GADN's Women of Colour Forum statement on systemic racism and White supremacy

July 2020

In the wake of the recent Black Lives Matter protests, GADN’s Women of Colour (WOC) Forum wrote a collective statement and recommendations on addressing systemic racism and White supremacy in the UK international aid sector. The statement was shared with the CEOs of all GADN’s member organisations with the aim to initiate a cross-sector discussion on anti-racism and take definitive next steps in order to address and resolve long-standing concerns.

This statement has now also been endorsed by Bond’s People of Colour Working Group.

The WOC Forum is an autonomous body that brings together more than 100 self-identifying WOC who work in the UK international aid sector. In addition to providing a space for healing and joint solidarity, the Forum also works to highlight the racialised and gendered nature of the UK international aid sector and seeks to make it more equitable, representative, and accountable.
